Asiamoney is a leading economic and financial media reviewing banking, capital markets and investment issues, with a focus on the Asia Pacific region.
In its latest publication, Sunday (October 3, 2021), Asiamoney appreciated the success of BRI which was able to maintain performance in the midst of a pandemic and at the same time save SMEs through business follow stimulus strategies.
For example, during the pandemic BRI distributed credit to MSMEs worth Rp 45 trillion sourced from the placement of government funds, channeled interest subsidies worth Rp 5.47 trillion, and distributed wage subsidies worth Rp 6.45 trillion.
Asiamoney also highlighted BRI’s commitment to continue to create economic value and social value and encourage financial inclusion and literacy, a thing that is not easy to do, considering that in Indonesia there are more than 270 million people spread across more than 17 thousand islands.
“The Company has a strategy in reaching people who live in remote and outer areas. Through BRILink Agents, BRI has 500 thousand agents with transaction volume reaching Rp 843.2 trillion in 2020.
BRI’s role in encouraging financial inclusion also has an impact on improving financial literacy, along with the distribution of financing to MSMEs,” Asiamoney wrote.
President Director of BRI Sunarso is proud of the appreciation, considering its momentum along with Ultra Micro Synergy which is being accelerated by the company.
“Currently the international community has understood and believes in BRI’s vision and strategy which mainly returns to its core in the MSME segment. This award will be a driver to achieve the vision of “The Most Valuable Banking Group in Southeast Asia” and “Champion of Financial Inclusion” in 2025,” concluded Sunarso.
