Indonesia Has a New Data Center, Using Submarine Cable Providers

As technology continues to advance, more and more businesses are turning towards digitization, ranging from the utilization of systems for operational efficiency to efforts to improve customer satisfaction.

Digitalization in everyday life also encourages the increasing need for data center facilities. Especially with the population in Indonesia that continues to grow, as well as the wider reach of the internet.

One of the largest data centers in Southeast Asia, the H2 Data Center which just operated this month, is one of the big potential images that Indonesia has for the development of the data center business.

H2 Data Center operated by PT Datacenter Indonesia Sukses Makmur together with PT DCI Indonesia Tbk, is planned to be built into a hyperscale data center complex with international standard specifications.

Not only that, H2 Data Center is also built with the concept of green data center using energy from solar panel farms to be built in the same area.

“Departing from the rapid digitization of Indonesia in the last two years, this hyperscale data center complex with eco-sustainable concept is expected to contribute to business progress and data use in Indonesia, so as not to lag behind other countries in Southeast Asia.” Said Director of DISM, Ricky Garyati through an official statement, quoted Friday, October 22, 2021.

One of the internet network providers that is supported for the purposes of H2 Data Center, namely Matrix NAP Info. Their presence allows businesses to enjoy various services offered, such as Matrix IPLC / EIPL, Matrix Line (local loop), either via DWDM or MPLS, Matrix Global IP Transit, and Matrix Internet.

“Through the presence of Matrix NAP Info as the first submarine cable provider in H2 Data Center, we provide direct connections to Singapore with the lowest latency. We are committed to ensuring the scalability of services at H2 Data Center is maintained and in line with people’s digital needs,” said Thomas Dragono, Managing Director of Matrix NAP Info.
